Sponsor A Light
Each year I use the show to help promote the Ronald McDonald House. The reason I have chosen this charity is their contribution to my work place - the hospital. RMH gives families with seriously ill children a place to call home while their children are being treated at local medical facilities. Cheerful bedrooms, home cooked meals, a caring professional staff, and more are available for families. The donation link is further down the page.
Please consider sponsoring a light on my home with a donation to the RMH. Last year we only asked that you send one dollar ($1) to sponsor a light, but many people expressed that they would like to send more instead of going through a lot of trouble just to donate such a small amount. Please give as you feel you can. This year I am providing a direct link to their online donation system.
Help us track our progress and give you acknowledgement by mentioning you are sponsoring Control the Show lights in the "Gift Acknowledgement" blank of the form.
We are hoping to raise enough money this year to sponsor all the lights at $0.10 per light. That's $3,600 total. If you wish, we will post your name on this site if you donate to the RMH (again, you must notify them you are sponsoring a light).
Here are a few suggested donations based on popular show items:
- $10 sponsors the holiday sign
- $30 sponsors the candy canes
- $35 sponsors Rudolph
- $90 sponsors the small blinking trees
- $120 sponsors the large trees
- $180 sponsors the white bushes
- $200 sponsors the yard lights
- $360 sponsors the icicle lights
- $1800 sponsors the strings of color changing lights on the house

More information about RMH from www.rmhc.org:
The idea behind the Ronald McDonald House program is simple: Provide a "home away from home" for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.
Some children must travel great distances to get medical attention. In-hospital treatment may last one day, one year or longer. For these children's families, accommodations can be hard to come by. Options often are limited to costly hotels or uncomfortable hospital chairs and benches.
The Ronald McDonald House provides a comfortable, supportive alternative. It serves as a temporary residence near the medical facility where family members can sleep, eat, relax and find support from other families in similar situations. In return, families are asked to make a donation ranging on average from $5 to $20 per day, but if that isn't possible, their stay is free.
